Panama Surf & Serve 2024

7 Men from CS chapters in Florida, North Carolina, and Michigan met in Panama City and drove the six hours to the small fishing village of Santa Catalina. After early morning surfs and pancake breakfasts, this years team really got to work! Helping the local fishing Co-op with construction of a concrete access ramp, stairs, roof repair, and awning work, we worked through rainstorms and extreme tropical heat. In addition to the work on the co-op building, we did many community visits to peoples homes to spread Gods word by distributing Spanish language bibles and interacting with locals. We also distributed soccer balls and helped a local surfer in the construction of a future home for he and his family. We rounded out our time in Catalina by inviting the local surfers back to a viewing party with some surf videos and pictures form the week surfing taken by a local photographer of all of them.

During our daily devotional time we spent time discussing and learning what it really means to “know” Jesus, focusing on Matt 7:21-28 and how we can practically know Jesus on an intimate level not just busy ourselves “doing things” for Jesus. It was an epic week of the Lord moving in all of our lives! YEW!
